Weekly Update

Week Commencing: Monday 14th November 2011
Firstly I just wanted to say a really big well done to anyone that has be collecting or raising money for children in need. It is a wonderful cause and it deserves the very best. Talking of children in need, there is the children in need song this year which I am honestly not all that impressed by. What do you all think of it?

Down to the important bits, this weeks top three. Third is Gotta Be You by One Direction, second is Good Feeling by Flo Rida and this weeks number one is still Rihanna with We Found Love. And I admit she totally smashed it on X Factor when performing this. But I was all prepared for One Direction to get this weeks number 1 because they have such a massive following, so it has thrown me totally.

Weekly Update

Week Commencing Monday 19th September 2011

I've got the backlog of about 20 bands to write about, so far they all have a title and that's about it because I found so many that I haven't had a chance to write about any of them.
Don't forget CRANBROOK MUSIC FESTIVAL this weekend, it's only five sleeps away and I am incredibly excited.

X Factor is getting very exciting, they're all down to judges houses. I haven't quite decided upon my favourites yet but I think I'll just see how they develop as performers and then pick some favourites when we are through to the live shows. Anyone got any favourites yet? There are rumours that Garry Barlow will be writing the winners song, whether this is true or not is beyond my knowledge right now.

One Direction fans will be happy to hear that their first UK headline tour dates have been announced, I'm sure there are a number of people who have queued up waiting for those tickets. I can think of one person who will be near the front of the queue already. Talking of tours Girls Aloud are planning a farewell tour to mark their 10th Anniversary as a girl group and to end it all properly.

This weeks charts, third place is One Direction with What Makes Your Beautiful , still in second place and holding it's ground very well is Move Like Jagger by Maroon 5 and finally in first position this week is Dappy with No Regrets. (I've seen him perform this live, it was very good) Here is this weeks number one:

Weekly Update

Week commencing 12th September 2011

I have decided to minimise the information level which is featured in the weekly update as I can't manage to produce the normal essay level and write about bands each week. Especially as there are more and more bands to check up on. If there is any major information that I think you need to know then I'll drop you a quick post but from now on the weekly updates will just be the top three in the charts.

So this week in third place was Pixie Lott with All About Tonight, second is still Maroon 5 with Move Like Jagger and finally reaching number one is One Direction with What Makes You Beautiful. I'm sure there are a many people who are happy with that result.

Weekly Update

Week commencing: 15th August 2011

A lot has happened  this week, we've had A Level results, it's amazing the effect a piece of paper can have and in the world of TV, we've had the V Festival highlights and performances being shown. Which look amazing, I really wish I was there. I am very jealous of some friends that went. X factor is back on our screens, it won't be long before we get the final few and everyone starts picking their favourites. We've seen some talented auditions already. I have to say that I am liking the Xtra Factor a big more hosted by Caroline Flack and Olly Murs, I just wish I could hear them chatting all day long. And of course there is Big Brother, which this is my first time ever watching and I am only watching in all honesty to see Jedward. It looks like it'll be an interesting series.

Broken Hands have released information on gigs appearing in Deal, London and Canterbury tickets of which are very cheap. They are hoping to get as much interest in them as possible.Spector are going to be playing at the Reading and Leeds Festivals performing on the BBC Introducing stages. Room 94 have announced they are joining the Stop, Drop, Rock tour, tickets only cost £5/£6 (£8 in London) and they are coming to places all over the UK. Hopefully I will get to see them this time. Room 94 are playing with a number of other unsigned bands at these venues, I'll look into them and give you a post about each of the bands when I get a chance too.

Olly Murs has released his new single Heart Skips A Beat; it came out in the early hours of today. And One Direction also released their new song; What Makes You Beautiful this week. I'll be honest, I thought the video would be a lot better than it actually is especially after the large hype which has been generated by it.

Rumours of Cheryl Cole appearing in Glee have now all been denied and the whole thing was a rumour. Matt Cardle has released information that he is planning his debut album release. Justin Bieber gets a street named after him in Texas. Lady Gaga has released her You and I music video many days before it's official release date after tweeting a link to the video.

This week's top three is, third is She Makes Me Wanna by JLS, second is Promises by Nero. And current number one which I have already mentioned is What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction. I shall leave you with your number one from this week.

Do you have any music news to share?

One Direction

One direction are most known for appearing on x-factor and coming in third place after being mentored by Simon Cowell, the show has done them wonders and they boys are now managing to live their dream of being rock stars. Although the boy group were put together by the show they have managed to stay together pleasing hundreds of girls across the UK. One Direction consists of Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horran, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles each one manages to catch teenage girls attention everywhere they go. A good thing about One Direction is that being at a young age themselves they will attract a fan base of a similar age who will age and grown old with each other meaning that they will always be in sync with what's popular with their age group. It must be a lot of pressure to be brilliant at such a young age and to meet the demand of their fans but they seem to do it well.

You can:
- check out their website www.onedirectionmusic.com/
- tweet them www.twitter.com/onedirection
- visit their facebook www.facebook.com/onedirectionmusic
- watch them at www.youtube.com/onedirectionchannel

You can download their new song What makes you beautiful on 11th September and it will be available to buy in store on 12th September. I'm sure we will be seeing the boys on the new series of x-factor performing their new single before long. I will be honest, I've had One Direction planned to write about for a long time but I hadn't checked out their new song until finally starting to write about them, I instantly fell in love with their song. It probably helps that it is incredibly cheesy but it's a feel good song. It will go down well with all the girls in the world. I shall leave you with their new song, although this isn't the official video for the song which seems to as it's being kept hidden until the release date.

Weekly update

Week Commencing: Monday 1st August 2011

I thought I'd give you a quick post to update you on The Wanted, but mainly the Coca Cola challenge they took part in to support the Olympics. They are given the challenge of playing their latest single (Glad You Came) via the cola bottles. I think they give it a pretty good short and it actually does sound like their song, but I shall let you be the judge of that. This is the short clip of The Wanted's Coca Cola challenge.

I thought you might be interested to hear that there are rumours that Justin Bieber and Will.I.Am are going to collaborate in Justin's next album. Watch that space.

One Direction have announced that their debut album will be What makes you beautiful released on 11th September. This is currently available for pre-order. Also Cher Lloyd has suggested that she may collaborate with the boys.

The Boston Plan have assured me that they are now going to start using their twitter accounts properly especially now that all of the band members are on twitter meaning that a lot more updates will be available. The guys are going to be playing at Falmouth Week 2011 on Wednesday 10th as they are opening for the headliner Tinchy Stryder.

Room 94 are already planning their next tour having just finished their summer tour in the UK. Their new single Tonight will be released on 15th August 2011. It's a must have so you should all get onto iTunes and buy it as soon as possible. Or you can pre-order it now to save yourself the hassle in 8 days time. Room 94 are also hoping to be nominated to appear in Kerrang Magazine as Britain's favourite unsigned rock band. You can help them achieve this by tweeting @KerrangMagazine with Room 94, you must also include the #Kerrang hashtag.

Current number one is JLS's She Makes me Wanna, followed by Cher Lloyd's Swagger Jagger.
I shall leave you with the current number one, this is She Makes me Wanna by JLS.

I just thought I'd also say that I have about 20 half started posts to get up, but once I start one I think of a new band to start writing about. So if you like my blog please let me know my following or commenting on any of the posts. Just let me know you are out there, thanks (:
