Loud Noises Tour

As you may know I went to Room 94's final stop on their Loud Noises tour last Saturday 31st March 2012), and of course it was brilliant. I have so much that I want to say about this gig but I know I won't remember everything that I could possibly put in.

The London gig took place at Kings College student union. I went with my friend Georgia (who is the randomer with the big smile in the majority of the videos), so when we were walking around to the venue after thinking we were lost we then saw The Famous Class and having heard that they were going to see the gig we decided it would be a good choice to speed up and follow them to hope that we were going the right direction. We had only followed them about 10 metres before going around the corner and seeing a gigantic queue of girls. It was pretty clear to us that we were there; I was really surprised with the amount of people that were there because I had heard that the tour hadn't sold as well as the boys were hoping it to but the London gig was packed! I was actually scared to move at points because I didn't want to stand on anyone. The whole night was honestly amazing and I can't tell you how much everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Show it Off

If you know me then you will know how much I've been looking forward to seeing Show it Off, when we finally got into the venue there was a massive queue for the lift so we decided we would take the stairs. But we stupidly didn't realise that we were on -2 and had to get to floor 4, so after running up 6 flights of stairs we finally made it up to the gig completely breathless but we were welcomed to the sweet sounds of Show it Off already playing.

The guys had the challenging task of opening the gig so really had to get everyone in the partying mood but they seemed to do such a great job. The guys had so much energy on stage and seemed to be really enjoying it. They did such an awesome job and they just played really well, okay there may have been a few mess ups on some songs but you really wouldn't have known it.

Destine

When they first spoke you knew it was going to be a good set from them. I'll be honest, I didn't really know much of their stuff before the gig but I know a lot more now. But they were really awesome, I had heard loads of praise about them and they really did live up to it. They put on such a brilliant show and just got everyone really into their music. They did a cover of "Down" which everyone loved, the whole venue was singing and dancing along to it.

The Ocean's Eyes

I honestly wasn't sure what I was going to make of this, I don't know why I had that opinion originally because I love TOE's music, they are such a good band and I love their EP but they were on a whole new level when performing live. This was the band that got everyone completely pumped and pushing to get closer to the front. It was crazy to think that these young guys could be so popular but I can assure you that people were in love with them and there were a lot of fan girl screaming going on around me. They performed really well and had the entire crowd playing in their hands by this time. Luke even jumped off the stage into the audience and began singing a song from there, it really did get everyone involved and people were getting so pumped and running from an adrenalin rush by this time.

8th Time Luckie

This band was AMAZING! I wasn't sure what to expect from them originally because you don't get many good rock bands with only three members but these guys honestly didn't need anyone else to help them out. They had the whole crowd jumping at one point; it felt like the venue was starting to shake because of how much everyone was really going for it.

Room 94

They really did smash it big style. They had the entire audience playing in the palms of their hands and everyone was really enjoying their set. I could tell how amazing it was because it felt like they were hardly on stage. Their new material sounded beautiful live and it was great to see them really interacting with the audience and getting everyone going for the gig. I was super happy to get to meet them all afterwards although it was only for a brief moment but I’m glad that it still happened. This was the second time I had seen them and although the first time was a much smaller gig so it was nice in a sense that it was more personal but this one was the best out of the two because the guys seemed like they were really enjoying it and were able to get really into performing.

There was so much more that happened such as a naked Destine guy running across the stage, I got my name sang around the streets of London, the tour documentary, being in an elevator with a band member, an awesome chat with a Twenty Twenty member, the release that The Famous Class will be supporting Room 94 on their August tour and so so much more. It was such an amazing night and it was great to meet so many of the band members but also meet so many fans in the audience. Everyone was so cheery and lovely, so it was great to get to share that experience with so many other people.

But I do apologise now for the lack of real words used in this post, it seems that I am just repeating the same positive adjectives throughout the entire post. But it was honestly an amazing gig, I can't decide if it was the best one I've been to or not.

March/April Tours

This is just a record of all the tours that I know are going on in March and April - I am sure there are loads more and there is even stuff going on in May but I've tried to keep it all focused on these two months. I've put in everything that I can think of so hopefully one of them will appeal to you. I've just put the posters below as there are too many to write about but they are featured in no particular order.

That is just a few of them that are going on, I am sure there are so many more but these are the ones that I keep noticing everywhere. Is anyone going to any?

Weekly Update

Week Commencing: Monday 13th February 2012

So to start it off the news that has to be the highlight of the week is Not Advised announcing their change to Natives. We were all expecting a re-brand by them and now we finally have it. And it looks like we will be hearing some of their new material next week.
Strangle Kojak got through to the next round of Red Bull Bedroom Jam and their Bedroom Jam is being released tomorrow so make sure you check that out because I'm sure that's going to be awesome.

Also A Day Overdue, Show it Off, That Sunday Feeling and Alone Tonight are all doing a co-headlining tour in May so if you are anywhere near Bristol, Newcastle, Nottingham or Glasgow then make sure you go and see them. This is classed as A Day Overdue's warm up tour so hopefully they'll have another tour later on in the year

Weekly Update

My Snowman

Happy February 2012 to start things of and I just say can you believe how much snow we have had. I got snowed in at my friends on Saturday night because of the snow which make things a bit more eventful as we had been out to see The Seamonkeys at a local pub. They were really great and it was so much fun being able to see them for an entire set without having to disappear part way through.

This is a call out to any Hill Valley High or/and Show it Off fans because I some how have ended up trying to make a fan video for both bands but I'm struggling to find the fans. I literally need videos of gigs, photos of them, photos of you and them, messages (written or videoed), memories with them pretty much anything that relates to that band. So if you want to be involved then get in touch because I am in great need of everyone's help.

If you've already bought your tickets for Room 94 then make sure you check their facebook page because there seem to be a lot of changes to dates and venues going on.

Beyond Recall are through to the Red Bull Bedroom Jam and have filmed their bedroom jam on Wednesday so look forward to that being aired on Monday at 5pm on the red bull bedroom jam website and also look into the next band going through tomorrow as 12 noon.

Show It Off

Show it Off are a four piece pop punk band from Weston-Super-Mare. This band are always full of energy and although I have never seen them life they always seem to give their music 100%. I can't wait to get to see them live because I have heard that they put on an amazing show.  Show it Off really hit their career at a high having been co-headliners for a tour around the UK which was within their first 6 months of coming together. These guys are going to make it even bigger especially seeing as they were able to sell over 2000 of their debut EP "Give Me A High Five And A Hell Yeah" - it's an original name but it is something worth it.

Weekly Update

Week Commencing: Monday 23rd January 2011

Quick 2 minutes

This week feels like it has been really busy and I don't seem to have any idea of what has happened in the music world. I've been paying a lot of attention on the red bull bedroom jam competition, with a special focus on getting Beyond Recall through this week and then Show it Off through next week. Fingers crossed this'll happen, both bands have been working their socks off to get through. It'd be great to see both of them through to the next round.
I honestly have gone completely blank about what has been going on this week, everything seems to have all merged together.
Talking of beyond recall, they are releasing their newest music video tonight so that'll be one to have a look at and I'm sure it'll be very creative. Room 94 have been filming their next music video this week, it is looking very creative at the moment. This is Beyond Recall's new video, I haven't even watched it yet because I wanted to share it with all of your first of all. So I'm afraid that I can't tell you what's going on in it because I currently have no idea.

I've finally got one of Fred Clark's CDs thanks to my lovely friend Rosie over at the budget beauty book. And I've finally got round to sorting out my ticket for Room 94's March tour so that is very exciting, let me know if you are going to that.

Vote for Show it Off

After asking for you to vote for Show it Off yesterday, I realised that I stupidly forgot to give you the link to vote for them. Well this is it:

Weekly Update

It'll all be pretty much on tours at this rate but I'll start with the Indee Rose Rock tour (again)  with the awesome line up taking place in May and you can get tickets from here: http://www.o2academyislington.co.uk/event/36876/indee-rose-rock-tickets/Details

The whole red bull bedroom jam is starting to confuse me on how the buzz chart works because the band with the top votes is hardly ever in the chart which seems disappointing as they have something like 15,000 votes and currently the top buzz band has 2,600 votes. I really don't understand it, but I can sadly tell you that FYI decided to drop out of the competition because they felt that they didn't have the right sound for the competition and have decided to focus on their music as a whole. And I can tell you that what they have instore for 2012 should be amazing. So this does mean that I have had to find a new band to support in the competition and I've adopted Show it Off, so we are all basically just trying to crack the buzz chart and find out the most effective form of promotion. If anyone knows how to then let me know? Because everything that I've found out is just hopeless and I seem to be walking around in circles of nothingness. But remember you can still vote for as many different bands as you like so share a little love for Show it off whilst you are there? In all seriousness though there are some really awesome bands involved in this competition so take a look and you might find one that you like.

Another bit of news, I'm not sure how I feel about this yet is that Room 94 are supporting Twenty Twenty on their May tour. Along with FutureProof who will also be supporting them but it'll be intersting to see how that works out and I'm guessing that it'll be an honestly amazing tour. But it will be really good for FutureProof and Room 94 - I think after this tour their whole music careers will completely change and that they will be much bigger. I could be wrong but this is my prediction, it'll really effect their popularity and both bands deserve that.

Also tour info, this amazing tour called "Don't be a hatour" - that is the poster and there are some really awesome bands. I so hope that they find a London date because I really want to see Show it Off in tour and also the other bands are immensly awesome so if you are near any of these places then make sure you check out some of these bands.  I am so excited about this tour it is unreal and I'm not even going to be at it yet, I shall keep you updated especially if they find a London date most likely with a whole post in capitals. Tickets are being released at the start February so make sure you get hold of yours.

Not that I do jealousy but I am very jealous of a local school, Kaleidophone went there on Friday and ran some instrument/songwriting workshops for the students before playing a mini gig in the afternoon. That is what I call a good day of schooling, things that good never happen to me and my educational life. From what I've heard it was a really great day for the students and Kaleidophone thoroughly enjoyed their time there.

I really need to learn to keep this section to two minutes long but there is a lot going on lately to be excited about.
