Weekly Update

It'll all be pretty much on tours at this rate but I'll start with the Indee Rose Rock tour (again)  with the awesome line up taking place in May and you can get tickets from here: http://www.o2academyislington.co.uk/event/36876/indee-rose-rock-tickets/Details

The whole red bull bedroom jam is starting to confuse me on how the buzz chart works because the band with the top votes is hardly ever in the chart which seems disappointing as they have something like 15,000 votes and currently the top buzz band has 2,600 votes. I really don't understand it, but I can sadly tell you that FYI decided to drop out of the competition because they felt that they didn't have the right sound for the competition and have decided to focus on their music as a whole. And I can tell you that what they have instore for 2012 should be amazing. So this does mean that I have had to find a new band to support in the competition and I've adopted Show it Off, so we are all basically just trying to crack the buzz chart and find out the most effective form of promotion. If anyone knows how to then let me know? Because everything that I've found out is just hopeless and I seem to be walking around in circles of nothingness. But remember you can still vote for as many different bands as you like so share a little love for Show it off whilst you are there? In all seriousness though there are some really awesome bands involved in this competition so take a look and you might find one that you like.

Another bit of news, I'm not sure how I feel about this yet is that Room 94 are supporting Twenty Twenty on their May tour. Along with FutureProof who will also be supporting them but it'll be intersting to see how that works out and I'm guessing that it'll be an honestly amazing tour. But it will be really good for FutureProof and Room 94 - I think after this tour their whole music careers will completely change and that they will be much bigger. I could be wrong but this is my prediction, it'll really effect their popularity and both bands deserve that.

Also tour info, this amazing tour called "Don't be a hatour" - that is the poster and there are some really awesome bands. I so hope that they find a London date because I really want to see Show it Off in tour and also the other bands are immensly awesome so if you are near any of these places then make sure you check out some of these bands.  I am so excited about this tour it is unreal and I'm not even going to be at it yet, I shall keep you updated especially if they find a London date most likely with a whole post in capitals. Tickets are being released at the start February so make sure you get hold of yours.

Not that I do jealousy but I am very jealous of a local school, Kaleidophone went there on Friday and ran some instrument/songwriting workshops for the students before playing a mini gig in the afternoon. That is what I call a good day of schooling, things that good never happen to me and my educational life. From what I've heard it was a really great day for the students and Kaleidophone thoroughly enjoyed their time there.

I really need to learn to keep this section to two minutes long but there is a lot going on lately to be excited about.

This weeks top three consist of David Guetta with Tittanium in third, second spot has been taken by the Rizzle Kicks with Mama Do The Hump and of course this weeks UK number one is Jessie J with Domino.

Weekly Update

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Sorry this is a day late, blogger on my phone wouldn't work yesterday.

It's been one of those crazy weeks - so it feels like with too much food avaliable all the time and also too many people you are supposed to try to see in a week.

Quick 2 Minutes
This week Room 94 are having a merchandise sale and I plan to try to get one of their t-shirts or wristbands finally. So if you are a fan of theirs its a good way to spend some of your christmas money. Not forgetting it's 12 days of Christmas from iTunes this week who are releasing something free of charge for you all, the first day was something from Coldplay which is an amazing free gift. I'm a little annoyed as I currently have no access to iTunes so I'm missing out on them all. Also doing their own 12 days of chrisTTmas is Twenty Twenty who are releasing something each day at 20:20 all details of it can be found on their facebook page which is where the surprise will be revealed each day.


UK Chart
The first ever chart of 2012 has been released and or the first time this year in third is Good Feeling by Flo Rida, second is the wonderful Olly Murs with Dance with me Tonight and in first place is Coldplay with Paradise.

Room 94 Christmas Show

So I have finally got to see Room 94 and they were amazing. And in true fan girl style I screamed a lot. I would say I was quite calm especially when the band members were just casually walking past me but I think my lovely friends that came with me would disagree. It was probably the way when we were queueing up outside and Sean (from Room 94) came outside to talk to some people and everyone was just acting really casually and I was standing there going "HE'S IN THE BAND, HE'S IN THE BAND". I was much better behaved later on and I didn't even get to meet Room 94, to be fair I probably could have done but I decided that it would have been a bit far. My other major fan girl moment (I've decided to confess to them all now) is when Sam Halliday walked into the room with me still standing there going "Is that the guy from Twenty Twenty, it totally is.....is it?" and then when some girls ran up to him I knew it was him. I couldn't miss a moment like that so I had to go and get a picture with him, it was worth loosing my "cool" edge. He is honestly one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting for about 20 seconds, he just generally seemed like such a nice guy.

The one bit of a downer to the evening was that I felt incredibly old, me and my three friends seemed like the oldest people that were there besides from parents, security and the bands themselves. So we were standing among what seemed like 12-15 year olds for a long period of time, which wasn't at all what I was expecting. At least it meant that there weren't too many tall heads to try to look over to see the bands.
Beyond Recall (individual post to follow - its not ready yet) were a really good support act that was until the screamo part came, I preferred them before they introduced that. It ruined it for me, this is just a personal thing but it depends what you are into. But before that part I was slowly falling in love with them.

Stakeout (individual post also to follow this one is pretty much done it just needs perfectifying) were amazing, they are all so cutesy and most of them are older than me but they really don't look it. The lead singer from this band managed to cut his finger in the first song but he managed to triumph on and kept playing with blood spilling out of his finger. It was not at all a pretty site.

Then of course Room 94 came on and just rocked it. They were so good, there was only one song that I couldn't sing along to which was their first time ever played live song. It was really good so I'm guessing that'll be on their next album so I look forward to seeing that come out. I was a bit bummed that they didn't perform for that long, I was ready for a few more songs, perhaps a couple of Christmas songs and a bit of stage banter but that didn't actually happen. But then I guess you can always have too much of a good thing. This first video is them starting their set which is The End:

Basically I am so glad that I went, for a free Christmas show it was amazing and I had a really great time. The whole atmosphere was great by just the way that bands don't need the heavy security or barriers that a big named festival would need. We even managed to fit in a trip to the pub before the journey home began which is clearly the way it should be. I would recommend to any of you to go check out these bands because they were all great. It was a great start to the Christmas mood - I think it was all the Christmas jumpers that did it.

All the videos are ones that I recorded myself from my phone which I admit aren't that great. The image is good but the sound is rubbish - I need to mix my old and new phone together and then it'd be perfect. The reason some are done by youtube is because it is ten times faster than blogger video upload which I soon found out. Also all photos in this post are personally my own.

Twenty Twenty

Twenty Twenty are a boy band who are establishing themselves at quite a fast pace at the moment. The three boys from Essex and Cambridge performing pop rock. I have never personally seen these guys perform live but I have been listening to their music for a while now though. They also have Twenty Twenty Tuesday where they will upload a video every Tuesday about their week or an important event to them. The boys have supported acts such as The Wanted, Selena Gomez and the Scene, The Saturdays and Scouting for Girls. Small Talk is their first debut album which has enabled them to great success. Twenty Twenty formed in the late months of 2008 where they gained a large amount of support through social networking sites. The boys are continuing their career with great success.

You can check out their latest song Get Down which features in the Horrid Henry movie. It is just one example of their brilliant songs and demonstrates their quality of songs. Not to mention the vocal performance which they can pride themselves on.
