Weekly Update

Week Commencing: Monday 16th January 2011
Quick 2 minutes

It'll all be pretty much on tours at this rate but I'll start with the Indee Rose Rock tour (again)  with the awesome line up taking place in May and you can get tickets from here: http://www.o2academyislington.co.uk/event/36876/indee-rose-rock-tickets/Details

The whole red bull bedroom jam is starting to confuse me on how the buzz chart works because the band with the top votes is hardly ever in the chart which seems disappointing as they have something like 15,000 votes and currently the top buzz band has 2,600 votes. I really don't understand it, but I can sadly tell you that FYI decided to drop out of the competition because they felt that they didn't have the right sound for the competition and have decided to focus on their music as a whole. And I can tell you that what they have instore for 2012 should be amazing. So this does mean that I have had to find a new band to support in the competition and I've adopted Show it Off, so we are all basically just trying to crack the buzz chart and find out the most effective form of promotion. If anyone knows how to then let me know? Because everything that I've found out is just hopeless and I seem to be walking around in circles of nothingness. But remember you can still vote for as many different bands as you like so share a little love for Show it off whilst you are there? In all seriousness though there are some really awesome bands involved in this competition so take a look and you might find one that you like.

Another bit of news, I'm not sure how I feel about this yet is that Room 94 are supporting Twenty Twenty on their May tour. Along with FutureProof who will also be supporting them but it'll be intersting to see how that works out and I'm guessing that it'll be an honestly amazing tour. But it will be really good for FutureProof and Room 94 - I think after this tour their whole music careers will completely change and that they will be much bigger. I could be wrong but this is my prediction, it'll really effect their popularity and both bands deserve that.

Also tour info, this amazing tour called "Don't be a hatour" - that is the poster and there are some really awesome bands. I so hope that they find a London date because I really want to see Show it Off in tour and also the other bands are immensly awesome so if you are near any of these places then make sure you check out some of these bands.  I am so excited about this tour it is unreal and I'm not even going to be at it yet, I shall keep you updated especially if they find a London date most likely with a whole post in capitals. Tickets are being released at the start February so make sure you get hold of yours.

Not that I do jealousy but I am very jealous of a local school, Kaleidophone went there on Friday and ran some instrument/songwriting workshops for the students before playing a mini gig in the afternoon. That is what I call a good day of schooling, things that good never happen to me and my educational life. From what I've heard it was a really great day for the students and Kaleidophone thoroughly enjoyed their time there.

I really need to learn to keep this section to two minutes long but there is a lot going on lately to be excited about.

UK Chart
This weeks top three consist of David Guetta with Tittanium in third, second spot has been taken by the Rizzle Kicks with Mama Do The Hump and of course this weeks UK number one is Jessie J with Domino.

Weekly Upate

Week Commencing: 21st November 2011

I've decided that these weekly updates are too boring so I'm going to include a quick typing 2 minutes where I can type everything that I can think of which you might be understanding which I've found out over the week. This is the first one:
Room 94 have announced that they are holding a free show in London on 21st December (I have applied for tickets and will hopefully be going), Stop Drop Rock are starting their creation of their magazine and are hoping to get it out to you soon. Concept are releasing their debut single, (i think) on the 11th December but I know that the date has moved from what it originally was. FYI are planning how to conquer the rest of England with their music.

Two minutes goes by really quickly, it's actually surprising how little I managed to type in the short space of two minutes. But that is the first 2 minute type up.

Down to the important stuff, this weeks UK top three. In third place is Good Feeling by Flo Rida, second is the wonderful Olly Murs with Dance with me Tonight. And still this weeks UK number one is We Found Love by Rihanna.

A Quick Message

Just a quick message, firstly to say that the band Spector which I originally blogged (click here to view the original post) about within my first couple of weeks now have their own twitter account so you can tweet them at www.twitter.com/Spector
I couldn't remember if I had shared their new video with you yet, but for some reason I don't think I have which is a real shame so take a look at this when you get a chance too. This is their song What You Wanted.

Also I don't know if some of you have picked up on my love for FYI (click here to view the original post) but if you have then you will understand my excitement towards Danny's daily video and also their mission to start playing outside of Bolton. I officially get to be part of their street team now and so could you be. Or even better in my street team for them if you don't want to start your own one. Their mission is to have one head street teamer who will then recruit their friends to work with them on set street team stuff and if you are part of their street team you will get lots of free music and the chance to enter into loads of competitions. So totally let me know (:
Just for a quick reminder of their video:

I think that is all I have to say in this moment of excitement.

Stop, Drop, Rock - Magazine

If anyone out their read my blog often then you would be picking up on my love for Stop, Drop, Rock who are an amazing little company who seem to be doing a bit of everything.
At the moment they are considering starting their own magazine, but they want your opinions of what to include in it.
So far they are thinking a new music section but that's about it so far. (it's a very new idea)
Tweet them at @stopdroprock if you have any ideas for them or comment on this post and I'll pass any ideas over to them. I am so excited about their magazine, it'll be amazing.

Also just wanted to say that FYI are doing lots of twitcams lately (although they do crash a lot), but if anyone has become a fan of them like I have then they are worth checking out. Visit their twitter @FYIOfficial for the links needed to see and chat to them. They read pretty much every comment you send them and always reply back to you. It's even just nice if you fancy a chat and some good music.

McFly's Battle Of The Bands

Just to say that make sure you vote for your favourite band at http://supercity.mcfly.com/battleofthebands it's so that the winning band will be able to support McFly on their tour. It's an amazing opportunity for the band.
I'm not going to tell you who to vote for but I shall say that Just Me Again, FYI, Hill Valley High, Room 94, I Divide and so many other amazing bands which I may have mentioned before or may not have. Just support which ever band you like the most.

FYI (For Your Information)

FYI are a very lovely band based in Bolton which is North England. I know that they are very lovely as one of their members Danny has lovingly been helping me out with my EPQ and he has even been given me new ideas to write about. FYI consists of three guys Danny, Luke and Lewis. The guys perform a pop-punk style of music, they have come together because of their love for music.

You can:
- visit their website www.fyiofficial.com
- tweet them www.twitter.com/FYIOFFICIAL
- visit them on facebook www.facebook.com/fyiofficial
- watch them at www.youtube.com/fyiofficial

This is a video of FYI performing It's not me It's you. For an unsigned band I think the quality of their video and song is amazing, it clearly shows that they are passionate about their music.
