Weekly Update

Weekly Commencing: Monday 28th November 2011

It is officially December and the count down to Christmas begins. It's finally the time where people can start to get festive and enjoy the christmas cheer. I've actually had a very festive weekend, on Saturday I went to a school christmas fair but on Sunday I went to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. There was so much christmas all going on in one place, it was brilliant. It is amazing the attention to detail up there and I got to see some snow which was brilliant.

This week I have been getting into the summer festival spirit, mainly because the Download festival line up has been released although I must say that I am not extatic about it yet. Although I am tempted to try Reading for once, just to go to one of the big festivals. The rumoured line up for Reading is currently sounding too good to be true, with names such as Foo Fighters, Green Day, Artic Monkeys, The Killers, Jay-Z, Florence and the Machine, Mumford and Sons but also the lovely Spector are rumoured to be taking part in the festival. If that is the line up then it will be an amzing festival, especially as there is no Glastonbury in 2012 which means that Reading will be competing for top festival spot. Everyone seems to be getting into the festival fever, especially with all the ticket pre-sales for Lovebox, Reading, Wireless and such but I think next year will be a good festival year. A year to enjoy the live music. This all took me longer than two minutes to write so I guess that will have to do for this time round. oh, also just a sneaky little extra Kick Start the Season is currently working on their EP and I have been informed this from one of the band members through the world of twitter so it is definetly happening so keeps your eyes or ears pealed for that one.

This weeks UK number three is We Found Love by Rihanna, number two is Olly Murs with Dance with me Tonight and of course this weeks UK number one is none other than charity single Wishing on a Star by the X Factor 2011 Finalists. Week Commencing: Monday 17th October 2011

First of all I just wanted to say HAPPY HALLOWEEN to you all.
Broken Hands have released their single and it is currently available to be purchased on vinyl or downloaded from iTunes. It's well worth a little look into.
Room 94 are planning their UK Spring tour which will be an exciting one to watch developing.

This week has seen the loss of Sophie from X Factor, I am truly upset. She was one of my favourites in the competition.

The UK top three this week are, in third is Rihanna with We Found Love, second is Labrinth with Earthquake and this weeks UK number one is Read All About it by Professor Green. This is the UK number one of this week.

Week Commencing 17th October 2011

Sammy left the X Factor this weekend, it was so upsetting because she honestly seemed like a lovely lady and it's upsetting to see her cheer live the programme.

This weeks top UK top three and I am honestly surprised a little at one of the results. Number three this week is Charlene Soraia with Wherever You Will Go, Number two this week is Lightning by The Wanted and this weeks UK number one is Rihanna with We Found Love. If my memory is correct that is three weeks of this song being number one, will it still be there next week?

I honestly think X Factor is getting worse, the majority of finalists can't even sing in tune - I was seriously disappointed by Saturday nights show. Anyone have any views on it?

This weeks top three, in third place is Gym Class Heroes with Stereo Huggers, second is still Move Like Jagger by Maroon 5. And this weeks UK number one is Rihanna with We Found Love.

Weekly Update

Week Commencing 3rd October 2011

X Factor is onto it's live finals now, I think that The Risk are my favourite at the moment but I'm inbetween acts. I'll know once we get shown more about each of the acts. And the new twist that the judges have to get rid of one of their acts will be an interesting one. Some are easy and some are not so. But on the plus side X Factor has started which means that we are on the countdown till christmas.

I've just found out that the Cranbrook Music Festival raised £2,498.49 for NSPCC, The Holly Eatwell Foundation and Christmas Cranbrook. That's the amazing work of everyone involved with the event. Brilliant Work!

This weeks top three are, in third place is last weeks number one which is Sak Noel with Loca People, in second place STILL is Maroon 5 with Move Like Jagger and this weeks UK number one is Rihanna with her song We Found Love.

Weekly Update

Week Commencing Monday 19th September 2011

I've got the backlog of about 20 bands to write about, so far they all have a title and that's about it because I found so many that I haven't had a chance to write about any of them.
Don't forget CRANBROOK MUSIC FESTIVAL this weekend, it's only five sleeps away and I am incredibly excited.

X Factor is getting very exciting, they're all down to judges houses. I haven't quite decided upon my favourites yet but I think I'll just see how they develop as performers and then pick some favourites when we are through to the live shows. Anyone got any favourites yet? There are rumours that Garry Barlow will be writing the winners song, whether this is true or not is beyond my knowledge right now.

One Direction fans will be happy to hear that their first UK headline tour dates have been announced, I'm sure there are a number of people who have queued up waiting for those tickets. I can think of one person who will be near the front of the queue already. Talking of tours Girls Aloud are planning a farewell tour to mark their 10th Anniversary as a girl group and to end it all properly.
This weeks charts, third place is One Direction with What Makes Your Beautiful , still in second place and holding it's ground very well is Move Like Jagger by Maroon 5 and finally in first position this week is Dappy with No Regrets. (I've seen him perform this live, it was very good) Here is this weeks number one:

Weekly Update

Week Commencing: 29th August 2011

I will be honest with you, I've been a bit behind on all the gossip of the week. Especially with going back to school, last minute homework and University organisation. Going to work and birthday parties that I haven't had as much time as I'd hoped to keep up with everything but I'll do my ultimate best for you. My sad news is that I don't think I'll be making it along to the Stop, Drop, Rock clothing tour to see Room 94 I am seriously gutted. I've learnt it would take be two and a half hours on public transport to get down there - I think that'd kill be trying to do it on the way back from there.
BBC Introducing have uploaded a great video of Spector performing at Reading. It looks like the guys had a great set and seemed to enjoy their experience. Take a look at it if you get a chance too. There are also so many other great bands which have featured on their stage, I'll try and look as many up as possible for you.

Big Brother has currently seen the lose of Pamula who got the power to save five of the housemates and leave the rest up for eviction. I think the programme is finally getting into action now with the exciting things that is happening. Especially how Jedward do not seem to worry about anyone else in there but themselves yet everyone seems to be mothering them. And also the lose of Tara.
Beyonce is pregnant, that seems to be some pretty big news lately. I was reading an article on it just today and it said she is 29 years old. I honestly couldn't believe it, I thought she was much older than that. Not because she looks it but just because she has been an amazing artist for so long that I couldn't believe she was still that young.

JLS have announced an arena tour which will be taking place next March and April. Justin Bieber was in a minor car crash but many girls will be happy to know that he walked away perfectly fine. Britney Spears is set to release a new single called Criminal.

Room 94 have been dropping twitter hints about the possibility of a debut album coming to us, nothing much has been said about anymore details of it though. The guys have just started the Stop, Drop, Rock tour which I am very sad to say that I am not going to. If you are going you should certainly tweet Conor and let him know, I'm sure he'd love to see you there.

As can be expected a lot has happened in the music world, I have about 50 bands to write about so hopefully you will enjoy them. Some are not my personal taste but they are still good bands so deserve a mention.
The Wanted are back of their well earned holiday and after hitting the stage at the V Festival jetted off to LA to work on some new material. There are rumours that they are working with N'Dubz on some new songs.

Broken Hands have announced tour dates listed below. If you've got some spare time and are near any of these venues then I'd certainly recommend popping down and seeing them.

Continuing on with Broken Hand's news is that on the 3rd October will be the debut release date for purchases of their new single on vinyl or to download. The single entitled Brother is going to be released by AED records.

Big Brother has seen the lose of Sally last week but that's all I can say about that, Jedward still manage to amaze me with their amazing stunts and then their kindness since being in the house.

Twenty Twenty have released their new music video entitled Move It. Which for some reason which is utterly beyond me it will not let me insert the video into my blog post but if you just typed it into YouTube it will be the first video that it pops up.

X Factor will certainly be one to watch, it'll be interesting to see who gets put through to the judges houses. Hopefully this year we will get an amazing group, although One Direction and JLS have been great examples of the groups that can come from X Factor.

TheBostonPlan are playing in Turo on the 2nd September and then will be back for the 8th October playing at the Freshers week at Watermans, Falmouth. I hope my Freshers week will be as good as that one is going to be.

Reading personally hasn't excited me this year, I am not feeling all that jealous of the people there. But they have been fortunate enough with the weather and BBC3 has kept all of us home stayers in the loop with whats been going on. Saying that I did watch Muse performing on BBC3 and they put on quite a show, it looked really impressive.

This weeks UK number three is Maroon 5 with moves like jagger, second was Calvin Harris with feel so close  and of course the UK number one was . Weekly Update

Week commencing: 15th August 2011

A lot has happened  this week, we've had A Level results, it's amazing the effect a piece of paper can have and in the world of TV, we've had the V Festival highlights and performances being shown. Which look amazing, I really wish I was there. I am very jealous of some friends that went. X factor is back on our screens, it won't be long before we get the final few and everyone starts picking their favourites. We've seen some talented auditions already. I have to say that I am liking the Xtra Factor a big more hosted by Caroline Flack and Olly Murs, I just wish I could hear them chatting all day long. And of course there is Big Brother, which this is my first time ever watching and I am only watching in all honesty to see Jedward. It looks like it'll be an interesting series.

Broken Hands have released information on gigs appearing in Deal, London and Canterbury tickets of which are very cheap. They are hoping to get as much interest in them as possible.Spector are going to be playing at the Reading and Leeds Festivals performing on the BBC Introducing stages. Room 94 have announced they are joining the Stop, Drop, Rock tour, tickets only cost £5/£6 (£8 in London) and they are coming to places all over the UK. Hopefully I will get to see them this time. Room 94 are playing with a number of other unsigned bands at these venues, I'll look into them and give you a post about each of the bands when I get a chance too.

Olly Murs has released his new single Heart Skips A Beat; it came out in the early hours of today. And One Direction also released their new song; What Makes You Beautiful this week. I'll be honest, I thought the video would be a lot better than it actually is especially after the large hype which has been generated by it.

Rumours of Cheryl Cole appearing in Glee have now all been denied and the whole thing was a rumour. Matt Cardle has released information that he is planning his debut album release. Justin Bieber gets a street named after him in Texas. Lady Gaga has released her You and I music video many days before it's official release date after tweeting a link to the video.

This week's top three is, third is She Makes Me Wanna by JLS, second is Promises by Nero. And current number one which I have already mentioned is What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction. I shall leave you with your number one from this week.
