Weekly Update

Week Commencing: 22nd September 2011
As can be expected a lot has happened in the music world, I have about 50 bands to write about so hopefully you will enjoy them. Some are not my personal taste but they are still good bands so deserve a mention.
The Wanted are back of their well earned holiday and after hitting the stage at the V Festival jetted off to LA to work on some new material. There are rumours that they are working with N'Dubz on some new songs.

Broken Hands have announced tour dates listed below. If you've got some spare time and are near any of these venues then I'd certainly recommend popping down and seeing them.
Canterbury - Aug 26 - The Farmhouse
Deal - Sep 02 - Smugglers Festival

Bristol - Sep 19 - The Louisisana w/Kill It Kid
Manchester - Sep 21 - The Deaf Institute w/Kill It Kid
Cardiff - Sep 22 - Clwb Ifor Bach w/Kill It Kid

Margate
- Sep 30 - Totally Wired
London - Oct 05 - DEATH DISCO @ Notting Hill Arts Club

Amsterdam - Oct 13 - Melkweg w/ Band Of Skulls
Hamburg - Oct 14 - Molotow w/ Band Of Skulls
Berlin - Oct 15 - Levee w/ Band Of Skulls
Cologne - Oct 17 - Gebaude 9 w/ Band Of Skulls
Paris - Oct 18 - La Maroquinerie w/ Band Of Skulls
Brussels - Oct 19 - Botanique/Orangerie w/ Band Of Skulls
Continuing on with Broken Hand's news is that on the 3rd October will be the debut release date for purchases of their new single on vinyl or to download. The single entitled Brother is going to be released by AED records.

Big Brother has seen the lose of Sally last week but that's all I can say about that, Jedward still manage to amaze me with their amazing stunts and then their kindness since being in the house.

Twenty Twenty have released their new music video entitled Move It. Which for some reason which is utterly beyond me it will not let me insert the video into my blog post but if you just typed it into YouTube it will be the first video that it pops up.
X Factor will certainly be one to watch, it'll be interesting to see who gets put through to the judges houses. Hopefully this year we will get an amazing group, although One Direction and JLS have been great examples of the groups that can come from X Factor.

TheBostonPlan are playing in Turo on the 2nd September and then will be back for the 8th October playing at the Freshers week at Watermans, Falmouth. I hope my Freshers week will be as good as that one is going to be.

Reading personally hasn't excited me this year, I am not feeling all that jealous of the people there. But they have been fortunate enough with the weather and BBC3 has kept all of us home stayers in the loop with whats been going on. Saying that I did watch Muse performing on BBC3 and they put on quite a show, it looked really impressive.

This weeks UK number three is Maroon 5 with moves like jagger, second was Calvin Harris with feel so close  and of course the UK number one was . I shall leave you with Olly Murs and Rizzle Kicks performing Heart Skips a Beat, sorry it's not the official video yet again my video insert isn't letting me chose that version.

Weely Update

Week commencing Monday 8th August 2011

I wanted to start by admitting that I seem to be slacking with the amount of information that I have managed to build up over this week. I just thought I'd say on the music front (sort of) I went to see Les Miserables on Saturday staring Alfie Boe and Matt Lucas. It was simply the best musical I've ever seen, being so serious made it so easy to get into. I even forgot I was sitting in a theatre at one point because I was getting into the story. Every single voice and performer was amazing, the cast even included three small children who had amazing voices and stage presence. Even if you don't want to make the trek up to London you can still buy the 25th Anniversary Concert at the o2 on DVD. It is very much worth it and I can honestly not explain to you how amazing it was. I can understand why it is the longest running show because it is one that everyone must see in their life time. Here is a short clip from the DVD for you all to have a look at.

The Wanted are on holiday, it's their break away from being The Wanted so no news to report back about them. TheBostonPlan are still working on their new album to be released, hopefully there won't be too much of a wait for it. Broken Hands and Spector seem to be a bit quiet at the moment, nothing much planned for them it seems.

Room 94 have just released their new song Tonight, it was available to buy at midnight this morning/last night depending on how you want to look at it. I will be going and buying it as soon as I have published this post. This is the official video for Tonight and if you like it hopefully you will go and buy it.

Action Item have announced their UK tour dates and they will be playing at small local venues around the UK. That is very exciting and hopefully I'll be able to get down to one of the venues and see them.

There are rumours that Britney Spears and Lady Gaga will be releasing a duet together, nobody is sure if there is truth behind this yet. Also Justin Timberlake is said to be the leading man in a re-make of dirty dancing. Cheryl Cole is set to guest star in Glee which will now be shown on Sky 1 in the UK.

I can inform you of this week's number 3 is Otis by Jay-z and Kanye West, number 2 is Swagger by Cher Lloyd and the UK number one is Promises by Nero. I shall leave you wish this week's number one.

That's all I've got this week I'm afraid. If you know anything that's going on then let me know about it.

Weekly update

Week Commencing: Monday 1st August 2011

I thought I'd give you a quick post to update you on The Wanted, but mainly the Coca Cola challenge they took part in to support the Olympics. They are given the challenge of playing their latest single (Glad You Came) via the cola bottles. I think they give it a pretty good short and it actually does sound like their song, but I shall let you be the judge of that. This is the short clip of The Wanted's Coca Cola challenge.

I thought you might be interested to hear that there are rumours that Justin Bieber and Will.I.Am are going to collaborate in Justin's next album. Watch that space.

One Direction have announced that their debut album will be What makes you beautiful released on 11th September. This is currently available for pre-order. Also Cher Lloyd has suggested that she may collaborate with the boys.

The Boston Plan have assured me that they are now going to start using their twitter accounts properly especially now that all of the band members are on twitter meaning that a lot more updates will be available. The guys are going to be playing at Falmouth Week 2011 on Wednesday 10th as they are opening for the headliner Tinchy Stryder.

Room 94 are already planning their next tour having just finished their summer tour in the UK. Their new single Tonight will be released on 15th August 2011. It's a must have so you should all get onto iTunes and buy it as soon as possible. Or you can pre-order it now to save yourself the hassle in 8 days time. Room 94 are also hoping to be nominated to appear in Kerrang Magazine as Britain's favourite unsigned rock band. You can help them achieve this by tweeting @KerrangMagazine with Room 94, you must also include the #Kerrang hashtag.

Current number one is JLS's She Makes me Wanna, followed by Cher Lloyd's Swagger Jagger.
I shall leave you with the current number one, this is She Makes me Wanna by JLS.

I just thought I'd also say that I have about 20 half started posts to get up, but once I start one I think of a new band to start writing about. So if you like my blog please let me know my following or commenting on any of the posts. Just let me know you are out there, thanks (:

The Boston Plan

TheBostonPlan are a boy band of four boys from the British holiday town of Cornwall. TBP do not fit under one specific genre but instead involve a range of pop, funk, groove and 80s music to generate their own sound. I honestly think that there is a gap for them in the music industry which will allow them to become big one day.
TheBostonPlan currently consists of the four guys above known as Mike, Sam, Neil and Ross (Left to Right). Although these guys weren't all the original members of the band. Sam is the new lead singer of TBP taking over from Aaron Sidwell best known for his role in Eastenders as Steven Beale and also the loose of keyboardist Ed when the band used to look like this

Taken at Children in Need 2010 where the band performed.

Although the changes to the band have been fairly big this doesn't seem to have taken an effect on the sound of the band. TBP are currently in the process of recording their debut album. I would highly recommend this band to anyone because of their unique sound and automatic likability.
TBP have performed with the likes of Eliza Doolittle, Professor Green, The Wanted, Alexandra Burke, Ellie Goulding and Tinchy Stryder
I have been fortunate to see this band perform twice, once with each set of members. The first time I saw them was at the Children in Need event for the South East which was broadcasted all evening and the second time was at Live at the Castle where TBP opened the concert with the new members amazing so many people.

You can:

- like them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/TheBostonPlan

I shall leave you with a short clip taken from Live at the Castle with all the current members of TheBostonPlan. If you like them please look into them and perhaps make their day by purchasing their debut album.

What do you think of them? Drop me a comment and let me know.
