Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse's classic beehive
I was never that much of an Amy Winehouse fan in all honesty but I have always been aware of her and her unique style which she has given to British music. Being a singer and a song-writer meant that all of her music would be personal to her and tell her own story which is always a good quality to have a meaning behind the lyrics. She was mainly in the public eye between 1998 and 2011 when she sadly passed away due to drug addiction. She passed away at the young age of 27, it seems a shame for someone so young to have died and for all of her talent to have been lost. As a singer she had such potential and was becoming a worldwide phenomenon. I personally wonder what would lead Winehouse to end her life in this way. It has been a sad time for her family and friends but also the number of fans which she has affected with her musical ability.
I felt the need to tribute this wonderful artist after her sudden death which has struck so many people all over the world. Most people have compared it to that of Michael Jackson's death, something that was so unexpected to these people who have so much more left to endure which has been taken away from them. Following the starts death her album "Back to Black" hit number one as my fans paid tribute by purchasing her album. The record label even had to create further copies of the album in order to meet the demand.
I thought I'd leave you with what has to be her most known song. We can only hope that the music industry manages to deliver many more amazing artists to follow in the success that Amy Winehouse has achieved.

What do you think about her death?
